Generative Engine Optimization
Your next customer will ask an AI. Be the answer it gives.
The search box is being replaced by a straight answer. GEO is how your brand becomes the one ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and AI Overviews name - not by gaming a checklist, but by being understood and trusted.
Key takeaways
- 01Search is becoming answers. When a buyer asks an AI, one response beats a page of links - and only a few sources get named in it.
- 02GEO is not SEO with new tricks. It is the practice of being understood well enough that a generative engine trusts you enough to cite you.
- 03Most GEO advice sells cosmetics: bolt-on FAQs, chunking, formatting checklists. Engines cite brands they can comprehend and trust, not ones that ran a template.
- 04The winners build a coherent body of knowledge, not a pile of keyword pages. Clarity is the strategy; tactics are just the how.
- 05You cannot see this happening in Google Analytics. If you are not measuring which prompts name you, you are already invisible and do not know it.

What GEO actually is
Generative Engine Optimization is the practice of making your brand the source a generative engine retrieves, trusts, and quotes when it answers a question. Where SEO competes for a rank on a page of links, GEO competes to be named inside the answer itself.
That difference changes everything. A ranking earns a click. A citation earns the decision, because the buyer often never sees a list at all - they get one answer, and a short list of brands the model decided to trust. GEO is the work of getting into that short list.
What most GEO advice gets wrong
Most of what you will read about GEO is a formatting checklist: add an FAQ block, chunk your paragraphs, drop in a schema tag, and wait to be cited. It does not work, because it mistakes the symptom for the cause.
A model does not cite a page because it was chunked. It cites a brand it can understand, connect to a clear identity, and trust enough to put its name behind an answer. Comprehension is the cause. Formatting is downstream. Chunk a weak argument and you get a well-formatted weak argument that still nobody quotes.
So we start with clarity: a coherent body of knowledge, an identity a machine can parse, and answers that are genuinely worth quoting. The tactics still matter - we do all of them - but as the how, never the strategy.
What we do
AI visibility audit
Where your brand stands today across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and AI Overviews - by the prompts your buyers actually ask, and against the competitors already being named.
Entity and comprehension work
We make your brand legible to a model: clean structured data, a consistent knowledge-graph presence, and content that states plainly who you are and what you do. Clarity, not keyword density.
Answer-first content
Pages and passages engineered to be lifted and quoted - each one a self-contained, defensible answer that stands on its own outside your site.
Connected knowledge
We build your content as one body of expertise, cross-linked so an engine reads authority, not isolated posts chasing separate keywords.
Prompt-coverage tracking
The metric that matters: which prompts name you, where you are missing, and what to ship next. The thing your analytics will never tell you.

They share foundations. They compete for different things.
