The client

In 2001, French-American chef Chris Salans opened Mozaic, a specialty restaurant in the cultural hub of Ubud, Bali. It is now regarded as one of the best restaurants in all of Asia by Les Grandes Tables du Monde. Mozaic's acclaimed mix of classic and modern techniques takes diners on a sublime gastronomic journey inspired by European, American, and Southeast Asian flavors. With the goal of helping more people discover Balinese gastronomy at the height of luxury, Mozaic partnered with us to drive organic bookings.

The problem: stagnant traffic, few organic bookings

Despite a high-quality website, Mozaic could not rank for their commercial and high-value keywords. Their traffic remained stagnant, with most visitors coming from referral sites. They approached our Jakarta branch with ambitious goals: to show up at the top of Google for local, high-value fine-dining keywords, to boost website traffic, and to increase organic lunch and dinner bookings.

Our approach: finding the gap the competition missed

We started by auditing the site and building an extensive keyword list targeting both local and national terms that reflected Mozaic's unique offering. We determined that international travelers in Bali and high-net-worth travelers from Jakarta were their best audiences, and crafted landing pages for specific fine-dining categories. Then we found a gap in the market: locals and travelers are surprised to learn the Michelin Guide has not yet rated any restaurants in Bali, yet thousands search for "Michelin Star in Bali" every month. As a classically trained French chef who worked under top Michelin-Star chefs in Paris, head chef Chris Salans delivers Michelin-worthy dishes, so we built a comprehensive content strategy around that desire for sustainable, long-term growth.

The results: 5x ROI within one year

The landing page and authority page for "Michelin Star Restaurant Ubud" took the Featured Snippet and the first organic listing, and Mozaic's Google Business Profile now sits first for local listings - together delivering 55% of the search market share. Google even uses our authority content as the Featured Snippet for "Michelin Star Indonesia," outranking the Michelin website itself. We grew website traffic by nearly 30% within one year, lifting monthly search visitors from 36K to 47K. From 11,000 new organic visitors we drove a 28% increase in organic bookings - about 100 new organic bookings per month year over year. At an average of 4 people per booking, that generated new monthly organic revenue of roughly Rp 800,000,000 (about USD 55,600) within the first year.
